Hi, I’m Val Nosler Beck, and I’m running to represent Wheat Ridge, Applewood, and Lakewood in State House District 23.
These are tough times, but our incredible community is the bright light that keeps us moving forward. With trust in our democracy under attack every single day, we need leaders who will work to fix broken systems that are letting Coloradans down.
As a caregiver, small business owner, cancer survivor, and mom of two school-age kids, I’ve faced my share of hardships while also caring for aging loved ones. These challenges have deepened my understanding of how broken some of our systems are and how crucial it is to find ways to access what is needed — so families have the resources to not just make it through, but build resiliency in these overwhelming times.
I love our community — the restaurants, paths, parks, pottery studios, patios, parades, and festivals that bring us together. Whether meeting neighbors on the greenbelt or catching up at the pool, these moments inspire me to turn our conversations into policies that truly support us.
I’ve had the privilege of working on policy at both the federal and state levels. As a former Wheat Ridge City Councilmember during the challenges of COVID, I know how to work hard to get things done for our community.
I’m running for the Colorado State House because I believe you deserve a Colorado where families and businesses can do better and be better. I am fighting for what connects us, not divides us. But I can’t do this without you.
Join me! I want to hear your ideas, concerns, and hopes for our community. Reach out anytime!

Jeffco Working Families: Advocating for access to essential resources and stronger community programs for families impacted by underfunded and underresourced schools.
Make Healthcare Less Expensive: Policies that help navigate our healthcare system to ensure it works for patients and supports medical staff.
Give Local Small Businesses a Leg Up: Providing safety nets and essential support to help local businesses and entrepreneurs better navigate and recover from catastrophic events.
